About the project
How do you look at a work of art? And how does someone else look at it?
Museum De Pont wanted to create a family trail that invites visitors to explore the perspectives of the artist, their family members and themselves.
Families set off through the museum carrying a bag filled with six small tins. Each tin belongs to a different artwork. Once you’ve found the artwork, it’s time to open the matching tin.
And just like every person and artwork, every tin is different.
About the family trail
Choose one of two routes and discover the museum in your own way. Each route offers a different adventure, making it fun to return and explore something new on your next visit.
With six tins in your bag, you wander freely through the museum. There is no fixed order. You decide where to go next.
Every artwork invites you to look from a different perspective. Dance with the sculptures of Grosse Geister, associate in the Green Room from Marien Schouten, or roll the storycubes and perform your own slow-motion story, inspired by the video art of Bill Viola.
Along the way, you’ll discover the artist’s perspective, the perspectives of your family members and perhaps even a new perspective on your own.
