About the project

From 7 July 2024 to 26 January 2025, Drents Museum presented the exhibition Dacia - Empire of Gold and Silver, showcasing remarkable archaeological treasures from the ancient kingdom of Dacia.

To make this exhibition accessible and engaging for families with children aged 4 to 12, we developed a playful family trail that invited young visitors to explore the exhibition through storytelling, collecting and discovery.

About the family trail

“I love everything that sparkles!”

Meet Draco, a curious dragon with one big passion: collecting shiny treasures. Can you help Draco fill his dragon’s nest?

Inspired by the mythical dragon said to guard the treasures of ancient Dacia, families embark on a treasure hunt through the exhibition. At the entrance, children receive an empty collection booklet that represents Draco’s nest. As they explore the galleries, they search for collectible cards featuring remarkable objects from the exhibition and gradually fill the nest with treasures

For children aged 4 and up, the trail focuses on looking closely, searching and collecting. For families with children aged 7 and older, each card also includes thought-provoking questions and playful challenges that encourage conversation, curiosity and discovery together.
